This is small study (i.e., 34 men on ADT and 29 not on ADT, but all getting radiotherapy) that documented the negative impact of ADT on men’s quality of life (QoL). Hot flashes frequency significant diminished the participants’ QoL.
The authors did not find any impact of ADT on patients’ cognitive functioning, but they acknowledged that the instruments they used to assess cognition may not have been sensitive enough to pick up a difference after only one year of treatment.
