Statins are a type of fat-lowering drugs, like Crestor and Lipidor, that help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. This paper explores whether statins help reduce the risk of lethal prostate cancer in men diagnosed and treated for that disease. The study is based on data from 6537 men in Finland and found that statins may delay or prevents prostate cancer progression. The benefit, however, appears most clearly for patients on ADT.
